With more than 3,500 students and 150 faculty members, the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS) is the largest of the nine colleges that make up the University. The College is distinguished by a rich academic tradition, commitment to heritage and innovation, and a dedication to serve our community and the nation.
In alignment with the overall vision of the UAE University to evolve into a ‘University of the Future’, the CHSS is currently embarking on a fresh and exciting journey, as the recently restructured Academic Departments will offer interdisciplinary Academic Programs that combine synthesized knowledge contents and improved professional skills.
The College comprises eight multidisciplinary Academic Departments:
These Departments offer a wide range of undergraduate academic programs and a growing number of Master’s programs. In addition, the College will soon offer two new PhD programs, one in Humanities and one in Social Sciences.
The College offers state-of-the-art facilities. These include a new high tech TV studio, a media creativity lab, a phonetics lab, a geoinformatics lab, an electroencephalography lab (EEG), a linguistics lab, and several computer labs.
The CHSS houses the Emirates University Center for Public Policy and Leadership, with the objective of conducting specialized research on various aspects of public policy and leadership; developing an information bank; providing training and professional development programs for those working in the field of public policy, and promoting fruitful and cooperative relationships with the community and stakeholders.
